By way of introduction, my name is Liat Bensimon, and I am from Miami, FL. In my quest to combine my desire to participate in athletic events and remain modest, I created a patent-pending Modest Exercise Skirt (i.e. EXERSKIRT). This skirt has "gym shorts" attached to it and allows for the full range of mobility, all while adhering to the laws of Modesty.

I feel that my skirt would be perfect for the modest women in the Modest community, for both exercise and for casual attire, since they care about modesty, yet are engaged in the every day world.

For the first time in a very long time, I am finally working on my own blog (which I am having to rebuild from scratch). I have joyfully added you girls to my sidebar!

Also, I have been looking high and low for a women's colonial dress pattern like one's y'all wear so often (I love this pattern) but I can't find one anywhere local--and I honestly don't have alot of money to invest. Any suggestions???

Your blog is really great! My Mom was teaching a Sunday School lesson at our church 2 weeks ago on modesty, and she was able to use some of the scripture references you mentioned and some of the points you made.

What a great blog! I can't wait to see upcoming posts. I also try to dress, act, and live modestly. It can be such a struggle in our culture today! I'm glad for support like this blog.

My Daughter would blend right in. Everyone compliments her on how beautifully she dresses and her hair. She does nothing special. She has waist length hair and she dresses femininely and modestly. Most clothes come from the thrift store and she sews a few simple skirts.

I do agree with puritanismtoday that your picture might scare away the average reader--even one who is seeking to be modest. Especially in light of the recent pictures of polygamous Mormons in Texas making national headlines--wearing dresses of similar style.

That said, I myself like the picture and appreciate that it definitely sets a clear example of feminity and modesty--no question about that! Keep standing for biblical standards! :-) And keep loving Jesus most of all!
