Just as He Unfolds the Rose

This poem was recently posted on YLCF, and it encouraged me so much, I wanted to share it with you! The pictures are ones I took of a beautiful rose bush back in May.

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God’s design,
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I,
The flower God opens so sweetly,
In my hands would fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God’s design,
Then how can I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I’ll trust Him for His leading
Each moment of every day
And I’ll look to Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.

For the pathway that lies before me
My heavenly Father knows
I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments
Just as He unfolds the rose.

That is a beautiful reminder! Thank-you for posting!
It's also a reminder to save yourself for your husband. We are not to "unfold" ourselves too soon by giving ourselves away to someone besides our Father. Wait for God's timing and the rose will be just perfect!

God Bless.

In Christ Alone,

Kelsey

That is a lovely poem- I loved your photographs as well. A rose is a wonderful example of our walk with Christ- a set apart, pure bloom, beautiful, yet surrounded by thorns. "A lily among thorns is like a darling among maidens." -Song of Songs 2
