Encouragement

Do you need encouragement? I did tonight. This week, most of the time I'd checked my mailbox, I'd stared into an empty hole. That is mostly my fault, as I've been somewhat behind on my correspondence due to a myriad of things to do. However, I kept checking... After supper I decided to check one more time, since anything new would have been put in this afternoon, and mail isn't delivered over the weekend. To my delight, I found a card from my big brother Elijah.

I have the bestest brother. =) He saw me on Sunday, yet he still took the time to send a card my way. He's been doing this all semester, and it has been such an encouragement! It has been a hard semester for a variety of reasons, yet Elijah has always been there for me. And they're not just any generic cards. They're beautiful cards that appeal to my feminine nature, with lovely colors, sweet messages, and handwritten greetings and Bible verses from my brother. Thank you Elijah - so much! And thank you to all my other family and dear friends who have also sent so much encouragement my way!

Is there someone in your life that you know needs encouragement? Take a minute and send some there way, be it in the form of an email, phone call, long letter, or sweet card. It can mean so much.

Oh, isn't he sweet!

I know how it is when I don't get any letters for a while, but I always realize that's probably because I'm not writing to people. =)

I also know how it is--everytime I get a letter from you, I know it will be something that richly blesses me. E-mails for pen pals that I haven't heard from in a while are great too.

You are extremely blessed by Elijah.....I know you know that =)

What a wonderful brother you have! He is so thoughtful to go beyond just sending a card to actually searching for one that you would like.

Thank you for the encouragement to encourage! I will certainly look for someone to encourage by a note this week!

A light for every shadow,
A plan for each tomorrow,
A key for every problem,
A balm for every sorrow."

I am indeed blessed by my brother. =)

Tiffany of Dixie: Thank you for posting that quote! It really encouraged and spoke to me today. Amy Carmichael's writings are so amazing! Praise God for how He continues to use her writings to inspire others long after she is gone.

Speaking of which, my sister would love some mail...

I seem to be a very bad sister.
