What's Going On In My Life...?

It seems like every time I post, I feel the need to assure everybody I'm still alive... =) It's been inexcusably long since I last posted and I'll try to make it up.

This is my last year of high school and I've been rather busy (no, I'm not trying to make excuses). I'm reviewing U.S. Government, so that I'll be more prepared for the CLEP test I'm taking Friday, the 27th. I'm also finishing up a World History textbook and I plan to CLEP that subject as well. I'm also taking an English Comp. 1 course at a nearby college as a dual-enrolled student.

Near the beginning of January, I went to Judson College for a music scholarship audition. I had a great time looking around the campus and had a wonderful audition. It helped to have the many prayers of friends with me that day. I had already been accepted into the school and was also given scholarship funds. It seems like I'll be heading to Marion, Alabama this fall.

At one time, I was determined I would never go to college. But, it was for the wrong reasons. Everywhere around me, friends were saying that I should go and it seemed strange to them that I didn't really want to. Well, I had determined I wasn't going anywhere just because people thought I should. I decided I would only go if I wanted to and if God wanted me to (notice the order that was in), so I felt pretty secure in my decision. It was just decision, not God's. Last fall, I felt the Lord slowly changing my heart and turning me in the direction that He wanted me to go. I felt led to apply to Judson (it helped that my choir director is the choral director at this college and had been recruiting me for quite some time), so we set up the audition day and I really had a good time seeing the college. It's a small campus in an almost invisible town, but I love the smallness of the school. Judson is only 2 1/2 hours away from home, so even though I'll be staying on campus, I won't be too far from home.

I'll try to keep you all up to date as I move towards graduation and take this new step in my life.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Thank you for sharing about what you're up to these days. It's exciting to hear about your future plans! God has good plans for our lives. It is tough when he works and shapes us through the difficult times but through it all he is faithful.

Congratulations! I use to have doubts about going to college too. It's amazing how God will change our will to His will when we let him! I'm proud of you for following God and going where He leads! You'll do great with Him by your side!

I'm assuming your major will have something to do with music, but what will it be specifically?

p.s. I visited Judson's website-it `does look very beautiful!

I definitely sympathize with you! Though I am a junior, I have been pondering this matter. I find pros and cons on both sides, but I am confident that God will take me down the right path when the time comes. God bless you as you follow HIS will.
