Great is Thy Faithfulness!

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Summer and winter and spring-time and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

This hymn is very well known, and many of you probably have the words memorized, as I do. However, it's always good to read or sing through it again and be reminded of the amazing faithfulness of our God. We sang it in chapel this morning, and my heart swelled as I joined the hundreds of other voices extolling our King. This song is definitely one of my favorites, and I have found each of His promises true.

Great is thy faithfulness, my Father! You have truly provided me with all that I need, and given me strength and hope.

Rest in God's faithfulness today. In the midst of difficult or wonderful circumstances, He will never leave You. Trust in His enduring peace.

Oddly enough, we sang this on Sunday. And sadly, since our new pastor came in July, we haven't had many hymns as all or music other than contemporary. Tis sad, as our previous pastor was very musical and sang wonderfully.

Amen! That is so true!
Hymns really are beautiful! Sometimes we may get caught up in the songs that "others" are playing, and "others" enjoy, but whenever I look back at these beautiful hymns, It really encourages me, and helps me see the glory of God!
(it also inspires me to write) :)

Amen, Anna. Thanks very much. Most of the time the simplest of things are the most impactful, and crucial. The hard thing is to not let them become meaningless with repetition.

Thank you for sharing that Hymn. I think I've sung it once at a "Church Together" event in Perth, Western Australia, most of my churches I've been to have had contemporary songs and I've only been a Christian in my adult years, so never grew up in an "old fashioned" church, so it was interesting to read the words for the first time. God Bless.
