Thankful Today

Have you thanked God today? Take a moment, and consider the blessings He has lavished on us this day. Today will never come again, and it is a time to be thankful.

Today, I am thankful for...
  • The fact that I get to go home (leaving at 4:30 p.m., after Theatre Departmental) for fall break!
  • The beautiful day outside, a bit warm, but still very nice!
  • The opportunity to cook and bake again while I'm home - something I haven't been able to do for 2 months!
  • The fact that the big midterm and 3 quizzes I had this week are over, as well as the presentation in Understanding Theatre on Wednesday, and that they all went well.
  • The time I'll be able to spend with my family this weekend, playing games and just being with them.
  • Yummy pizza in the cafeteria for lunch. =)
  • The fact that I'll be able to see Miriam Rebekah tomorrow and spend Saturday and Sunday with her!!
  • Friends that the Lord has provided here at college.
  • God's amazing creation, big fluffy clouds, and the beauty of the light and shadows playing on a field.
  • The strength God gives to do what needs to be done each and every day.
  • God's grace that He so freely gives to me, even though I don't deserve it.
  • A loving family and home to go home to!! (Can you tell that I'm slightly excited?)
There are many more things, and we could probably spend all day listing all the little things that we can be thankful for. Our loving Father is so good! Let's purpose to live a life of thankfulness today and every day.

What are you thankful for today?

"Be joyful always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I was wondering, do you not like college? Almost all of posts talk about how you can't wait to get home and how much you miss from home.

I would have given anything to go away to college. Make the most of the time. Make friends. Go new places. Be THANKFUL you are in college! It is choice some us never had.

I am so thankful for the beautiful colored trees I get to see when I drive to my violin lesson and youth orchestra rehearsal on Fridays and Saturdays. The river valley is absolutely gorgeous this time of year.

What a wonderful post! Praise the Lord for all His many many many :) blessings!!

I enjoyed your post. I think often times, with our busy daily schedules, we forget to be thankful for the blessings we receive each day, rather big or small. I am always thankful though, for the patience and mercy Heavenly Father bestows upon me each day, even though I am not deserving of it.

I'm thankful for this colourful autumn by fall foliage and that we have had many sunny, but brisk days.

I'm thankful for the fact, that I'm probably able to have children after all(!) :)

I'm thankful for my improved health.

And I'm thankful for finding these blogs about modesty. You have been a very good inspiration for me.

Thank you all for sharing about what you are thankful for! Sharing them encourages everyone and reminds us to focus on being thankful.

Laura: I am enjoying college for the most part. There is a lot to learn, and in my list of things I'm thankful, I included quite a few things that are college-related. Yes, I may mention missing home more, because there truly is no place like home. Being lonely for my family is natural, I think. Plus, as I looked forward to fall break, I was naturally very excited to be going home, as were all my other friends, no matter how much they love college. I probably have taken some things about college for granted, so thank you for reminding me to be thankful. It has been really nice to be home for a few days though. And yes, I do enjoy being home more than being at college, but I think that may be somewhat typical! ;-) I am thankful for the learning experiences at college, however.
