Resting in God's Faithfulness

Lamentations 3:22-23 are verses I've been familiar with for quite a while. I memorized them through Memlok, and have been comforted by them time and again. Those two verses aren't the only good ones in Lamentations 3, however! The morning during devotions, I was struck by the verses before and after them:

"Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

great is Your faithfulness.

I say to myself, 'The LORD is my portion;
therefore I will wait for Him.'

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him,

to the one who seeks Him;

it is good to wait quietly

for the salvation of the LORD.

It is good for a man to bear the yoke

while he is young."
~Lamentations 3:21-27


We don't always have the answers, but it is good to wait for the Lord. Each day, we need to remind ourselves of God's faithfulness, His great love, and His unfailing compassion. We must call it to mind, and speak to ourselves of God's salvation. It is great indeed.

There will be times of testing - we're not promised a care-free life. But, these times of testing teach lessons that will prepare us for all of life. It is even good for us to bear the yoke in our youth, for it reminds us again that we can't do things on our own; it is only through God's strength alone. We can never be reminded enough of our Father's unfailing love.

Whether your day is busy or tranquil, rest in God's faithfulness, today and every day. Our God is Faithful!

Anna, I love Lamentations 3! It has brought so much encouragement to my life. Especially with all that is going on! He is so good....and his faithfulness is unfailing!!

Anna, Thank you for the reminder! Those verses are pretty, and I needed to be reminded of God's faithfulness even during trials and temptations that test us. Thanks for letting God use you for His glory!

I regret to say that my personal bible study has gone neglected one too many times. I try to use the excuse that "I'm just too busy", but I know that doesn't cut it.

I am thrilled that our family is doing bible reading together in the morning now.

Anna, this is very beautiful and also timely...I happened to post Lamentations 3:21-23 just yesterday! It is truly an uplifting, heart-healing, and trust-buildling verse.
