Winter Skirt

Although I'm busy with sewing for dance and others, I did find time recently to make a new winter skirt. I found an old pattern at my Grandparent's house (I doubt it's in print anymore!) that was actually for a long skirt - you can't find many like that anymore, sadly enough. Anyway, I made this skirt once before out of jean-like material, and after enjoying it so much, I decided to make another one. I used some heavy fabric we'd found lying around, and it really works well for a warmer, winter skirt. Ankle-length is one of my favorite skirt lengths, especially in winter. I enjoyed lessons and shopping in this skirt today, and look forward to wearing it many more times!

Something that doesn't have to do with this post, but that I wanted to pass on to all you like-minded young ladies/ladies out there.

I have a friend who is trying to start a blog to encourage Christian young ladies called Roses in His Hands. She sent me the following email a while back with permission to pass it on:

Hello Ladies:)

I've put together a website for young ladies who wish to grow in feminine grace and godly beauty. I need writers for this! If any of you would like to write an article or have a permanate spot on the site that is themed, that would be wonderful. Please do send your submissions via e-mail if at all possible. If you would rather snail-mail them, my mailing address is below. If any of you are interested in helping, whether it be editing, page management, or whatever, let me know! Please pass this on to any young ladies you know who may be interested!
Thanks for considering! God bless you!
Awaiting His Perfect Shalom,
Quinn Davis

Beautiful skirt Anna!
It really is sad that long skirts are so hard to find these days! Sometimes Walmart has long skirts in stock. I purchased a few there a while ago! I was SHOCKED!

This is to eliasboudinotismyfried^^^
My family did the JT 400, too! Actually, my sister (yes, sister) was named for Elias Boudinot! Her name is an anagram for Elias-- Elsia! She was born during the short rest between the last clues and the end-all, or final sprint. Just had to share that...

Olivia, yet again.

Just wondering, do you ever wear pants or always skirt/dresses? Just a thought.....

Jaime: In answer to your question, no, I rarely wear pants - I primarily wear skirts/dresses. I don't think it's wrong to wear pants, but I'm more comfortable in a skirt, and enjoy wearing them more than pants! I will wear pants on occasions where they seem more modest, but it is rare. You can read more of my reasoning here: http://maidensofworth.org/2007/01/different-way-of-dressing.html and here: http://maidensofworth.org/2009/05/why-i-wear-skirts.html
