Alabama Tornado

Yesterday afternoon, a tornado ripped through two cities that are very close to where we live. It's so weird to see pictures of places we drive past every week, so devestated. Our place is fine - we just got some rain (the wind I felt yesterday certainly was preparing for a big storm!) and our power went out for about 4 hours. However, so many others lost their homes or businesses, and the clean-up will take some time, I'm sure. To see some pictures that my sister Miriam took (she was at her church when the tornado went through!) go here.

Please be in prayer for all of the hurting people today! It's so unreal when something like this hits so close to home!

I did see that on the news yesterday. Everytime there is something in the South I wonder....I will be praying!

Thank God there were no fatalities! I feel so bad for the people who have lost their homes.

We got a lot of rain and wind, but you were closer than we were. Our power didn't even go out.

I live but miles from "Tornado Alley" and though I have yet to witness a twister, I know the devastation they can cause. I am glad that you are safe and will most certainly pray for the hurting.

Our power outage wasn't really an affect of the tornado, since it didn't come through us. Because of the wind and rain, a tree fell down on our power line, which caused the outage until someone came to fix it. We could have been hit much worse! Yes, praise God that there were no fatalities!
