Savor the Small Things

The days go by quickly; the moments swiftly pass. Sometimes in the busyness of life, we don't stop to enjoy the little things that daily happen.

But those small things can be the things that bring peace when your days are full. Pause, reflect, and enjoy the simple moments. Use the brief times of quiet to reflect on the day and thank God for what He's done.

Enjoy...
... the feeling of bread dough as you knead it smooth and the delectable perfume it wafts through the house
... the warm sunlight brightening the world
... the comfort of a hot fire on a cold day
... the relaxation that comes as you lay down after a long day
... the bright blue eyes of the sweet baby girl of a friend
... the fun of making something nourishing and delicious for your family and sharing it with them
... the sound of music played by you or a sibling
... the satisfaction of getting something sparkling clean
... the quiet and solitude of early-morning devotions under warm covers
... the hug from a true friend and the promise of seeing each other tomorrow
... the beauty a lone flower brings

Never take the small things for granted.

I couldn't agree with you more! All too often, we get caught up in the fast pace of day to day life. We get all caught up in what we have to do, what's on our agenda, etc. We're always rushing from here to there, and so often, we completely miss some of the biggest blessings of our lives-the little things that occur day to day that are such gifts. Those little things are all too often ignored, but are such rich blessings that we should be thankful for!

Thanks so much for this great post; it was a beautiful and much needed reminder! :)

Blessings,
Rebekah

P.S. I agree-the aroma of bread baking is simply glorious! :)

P.P.S. This post has given me the idea to do a post on my blog, listing some of the "small things" that I'm so thankful for. Thanks for the inspiration! :)
