Why Worry?

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Another reason not to worry: it's not fun.

I guess you might know, Elijah. :)
I hope you don't worry to much anymore.

Anna, the pictures are lovely, and the Scripture are, too. We can rest assured because the future is in the Lord's very capable hands.

Hi! You have a wonderful blog!
I also don’t think it’s just a coincidence that I was reading this very passage the other night!

Wonderful! It's also really neat because I was just reading that this morning and thinking about it. Thanks!

Hi Anna! I've been a frequent reader of your blog for a while now, and I love it!

I saw on the Rebelution blog that you said that you had seen the new movie "Amazing Grace". I am planning on seeing it this Friday, but was worried that it might be too violent/graphic. I am a somewhat sensative girl (:-)) (I never saw "The Passion of the Christ), but really wanted to see this movie. None of the reviews I've read have gone into too much detail.

Sorry for this very odd question! Thanks for any info you can give me.

Wondering, I'm glad you've been reading our blog!

Amazing Grace was really good! I too am pretty sensitive when it comes to violence and stuff. However, this movie didn't have much in it. You saw some shadowy slaves working in one of his nightmares; while it was sad, it wasn't really scary. The only other "violent" things I can think of is when Wilberforce begins having pains in is stomach. Other than that, I can't think of anything else. It was an excellent movie, and I highly recommend that you go see it!

Thank you so much Anna! I went to see the movie, and it was great! The only part at which I was really uncomfortable was at the beginning when the men were beating the horse. Other than that, I loved it, and everyone should see it! (It might be a little too intense for little kids.)

Wondering, I'm glad you liked it! Yes, I'd forgotten about the first part - it was sad. But, I agree; the movie's wonderful!
