Even in sickness?

This morning I woke up with the all-too-familiar signs of a cold - a sore throat and stuffy head. For some reason, I seem to get sick quite often. If there's a cold to be caught, I usually catch it! I try to eat healthy, eating many fruits and veggies, but the colds still seem to come.

As I was thinking about my last post, I was struck again by 1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." We're truly supposed to give thanks in all circumstances? Even in sickness?

I had to cancel teaching dance classes today, which I don't like to do! However, I can be thankful that I have a few more days to rest the ankle that's been bothering me, since I won't really be dancing while feeling bad.

I can be thankful for some time to rest and recuperate, since sometimes these days are so tiring!

I can be thankful for more time to read, for it's one of the things that helps take my mind off of my misery. I can be thankful for a chance to work on my huge "to read" pile.

And last but not least, I can be thankful, as my dear daddy reminds me, that I'll never get this particular cold again. This is one less cold for me to get when I'm older! =)

Oh dear, I am the same way! When ever a cold comes into our house, I am usually the one who brought it! :-( My dad says that I was sick half the time when I was younger!

You'll be in our prayers, too. Our kiddos have had colds off and on for the last month, so we understand!
Love you!

Thank you for all your prayers, everyone! They really mean a lot to me.

Yes, Bryant, I'm usually the first one to get sick around here, and I almost always catch something if someone else has it. But, my dad says he was the same way when he was younger - sick a lot of the time - but now he doesn't get sick that often. Maybe I just need to build my immune system up! It is discouraging though, considering I've gotten sick 4 times in the last 4 months.
