Spring in January

Yes, this beautiful purple iris has bloomed in the past week.
Our weather has fluctuated from cold to warm, and is
confusing the poor flowers and plants. They think it's already spring and time to come out. But then a cold front will come
and freeze them. :(
I actually love cold weather and have been disappointed in this winter's fickleness. Snow is a dream that lingers in the back of our minds, but is not likely to happen. Just today, I went wading in our stream with my brother. The water wasn't really even chilly!

Now that the holidays are over, we've gotten back into our school schedules and such. I'm trying to make myself a lot more disciplined than I have been. It's going pretty well.
Anna's been getting over the flu and I pray that the sickness totally leaves her body. It's a nasty thing to have, I know.

Weather is strange. I think it will start to actually feel like Winter here in Texas. It's been raining a lot and supposedly it will get down to around 30 tonight.

I hope Anna gets well soon!

Hope you both have a good day!

What beautiful flowers! We haven't had any bloom here yet and now cold rain has come through so they probably won't for a while.
I grew up in Pennsylvania where we had feet of snow during the winter...it's nice at first, but then you get tired of shoveling it! But a little bit here and ther would be nice I agree!

The Iris is really pretty! I know, this weather gets annoying when it's cold - warm - cold - warm... and so on. I'm feeling better; I just have the awful hacking cough. But at least I'm not miserable anymore!

Glad you're feeling better, Anna!

Elijah, during our cold days, we've had it 20 degrees at night. I love it, but I think could deal with it being a little less cold in the mornings. :)

Michelle, our band teacher says the same thing. She lived in New Jersey and had snow every winter. She's really tired of it and that's probably why she moved down here, of all places. But I can't share her sentiments.

I hope Anna feels better soon! Coughs can be nasty :-P.

What a beautiful picture, Miriam. Thank you for sharing. The weather has been warm in Georgia as well. I just went for a 7:00 a.m. walk in sandals and my feet were not cold at all.

The weather has been fickle this year! Oklahoma is the same way. It was 70 degrees on Thursday and an ice storm on Friday!
