A Night With Music

Yes, I'm posting again. Anna apologizes for not posting often enough, and here I take an age to post. Last night, my family excluding a brother and Daddy, went to the Davis Theatre to listen to the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. It was quite wonderful! It featured a solo cellist, and solo violinist. They played a lively piece, and then the cello piece that was rather depressing (Mother's and my opinion anyway!), and the last piece was a violin Concerto that was my favorite. Anna's family was there, except for Anna on account of her not feeling well, and some other friends were there. It's always nice to be with people that love music as much as I do.
Four members of my family are part of the Montgomery Youth Orchestra, myself included, and we are enjoying the music that we have this year. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of our concert in December. We forgot the camera for the whole of last year's events, so we are hoping to remember this time.

Until next time,
Miriam Rebekah

The picture is not our orchestra, but it had a harp just like ours, so I thought that was pretty neat.

*gasp* Miriam posted! ;-) I was getting close to requesting that you post something since you haven't in a while. :-)
The concert sounds like fun and I'm glad you had a good time!

Who were the soloists? What was the peice they played together? And what was the cello piece (the depressing one)? And who wrote the violin concerto? :) (Sorry if that's overwhelming ^_^) I'm a violinist, so...naturally, I'm curious. :D

(BTW, I think I found you via the Rebelution...just so you don't think I'm some random...person...which I probably am anyway, but oh well. :D)

I just love attending concerts!! I am going to the Boise Philharmonic this Friday. I am not sure if we are having any soloists, but I know the music will be lovely. The only thing I dislike, is that my instrument, the piano, is never to be seen unless there is a soloist!

Hannah, I'm sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. I usually wait till I have something worth posting, and I'm working on something right now.

Carley, the soloists are part of the Orchestra. Their names are Benjamin Sung and Katerina Juraskova. The cello piece was Schelomo: Hebraic Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra by Ernest Bloch.
Jean Sibelius wrote the Violin Concerto in D, Op. 47. (just in case you wanted to check it out).
The soloists are also String Fellows, which means they are guest soloists for a year or more, of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.

Hope you enjoy reading our blog!
